Happiness Is Everywhere Here ( 35 mm still, 2013/2016)

 

There are two things I particularly remember about the period of melancholia I experienced after the birth of my second child. One was a feeling of remoteness and detachment to everything around me and the other was that I felt plagued by repetitive thoughts. One such thought I obsessed over and could not get out of my mind was the meaning of a seemingly unsolvable riddle: the phrase ‘happiness is everywhere here’, which had come to me one night in a series of dreams.
